Three men arrested earlier today for questioning by police in Northern Ireland about the loyalist mob murder of a Catholic community worker have been released.
The men were arrested in the Coleraine area this morning by the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Serious Crime branch.
Two were released pending further inquiries while the other was released unconditionally.
Police have already charged eleven people in connection with the brutal killing of father-of-four Kevin McDaid in Coleraine, Co Derry, in May — seven of them with murder.
Mr McDaid was battered to death close to his home in Somerset Drive by a loyalist mob which stormed the area after Rangers beat Celtic to the Scottish Premiership title.
There have been constant claims of threats against witnesses and earlier this month the High Court in Belfast was told that more than 20 people are under death threats.
A man who was critically injured in the same attack as Mr McDaid has since been targeted and beaten up a second time.
