Three young men were killed in road crashes yesterday evening.

In Galway, a 22-year-old man was killed when he lost control of his motorbike at Derrintin, Leenane, Co Galway at about 7.15 p.m.

A 19-year-old Co Cavan man died when the car he was driving collided with a truck at Derrylea, Ballyjamesduff, Co Cavan, on the Ballyjamesduff-to-Granard road at 6 p.m. He died at the scene.

The third man was killed at Breaffy, Castlebar, Co Mayo, when a 17-year-old motorcycle rider lost control at 8.45 p.m.
