Traders in Templeogue village, Dublin, have taken a High Court challenge to plans for a bus corridor and a cycle route through the village.
In court yesterday, Mr James Macken SC, for 30 traders in Templeogue Village Traders' Association, said South Dublin County Council decided last September to implement a bus corridor and cycle lane.
The association was concerned the measures would restrict people using the village for shopping and other matters, counsel said.
The President of the High Court, Mr Justice Morris, gave the association leave to seek orders, by way of judicial review, prohibiting the council from taking any further steps.
