Irish industrial output has fallen cent over the past 12 months, but there are signs of a recent improvement, according to a report released today.
Figures for industrial production and turnover prepared by the Central Statistics Office show production was 4.8 per cent lower than in February 2004.
But production in the three-month from December 2004 to February 2005 was 2.6 per cent up on the preceding three-month period.
The "modern sector", comprising the high-tech and chemical sectors, showed an annual decrease in production for February 2005 of 5.4 per cent; a decrease of 3.4 per cent was recorded in the "traditional" sector.
