Any community organisation or local history group planning to mark the millennium by publishing a book can participate in a training day tomorrow organised by the Border Counties History Collective.
The organisers say it is not necessary to be a historian to take part and that any group, from a branch of the IFA to a women's group, is welcome.
Areas covered in the day-long seminar will include researching, writing, editing, printing and fund-raising.
Advice will be given by people with experience of local history publishing.
The seminar is in the Garrison Cultural Centre, Garrison, Co Fermanagh, from 10.45 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A selection of recently-published local history books will be on sale.
Information can be obtained from the Border Counties History Collective in Blacklion on (072) 53440.
The collective is an association of 19 history groups in Fermanagh, Cavan and Leitrim which started in 1996.
It aims to promote co-operation between groups on a cross-Border basis and provide practical support.
From its Blacklion base, it also houses a computerised outreach facility for the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland.
