Racing:Edward O'Grady's Tranquil Sea landed some hefty bets in winning the Poplar Square Chase at Naas under a confident ride from Andrew McNamara.
The Grade Three was robbed of a little of its interest as Arkle winner Forpadytheplasterer was a non-runner but Made In Taipan still led a high-class field through the early stages.
Davy Russell was still dictating matters when he came down two out, leaving Trafford Lad at the head of affairs, and while Joncol emerged as a threat on the rails but McNamara always oozed confidence on the 6-4 favourite and nudged his mount out for a comfortable length-and-a-quarter success.
Paul Nolan will be thrilled with the run of Joncol who needs further than two miles, as will Lar Butler for Trafford Lad in third, making his first start of the season.
