World and European soccer chiefs ended another round of talks with the European Commission on new transfer rules today, saying limited progress had been made but a further meeting was needed.
"This was a clarification meeting for both sides, there are still some items to be discussed," chairman of the joint FIFA-UEFA task force Per Ravn Omdal said after nearly three hours of talks in Brussels.
Another meeting with the EU executive has been scheduled for February 16th, giving time for the groups to hold discussions with players' organisations early next month, officials said.
The Commission believes the current international transfer system breaks EU competition law in that it fails to guarantee players the same freedom of movement as other workers. - Reuters
