About 800 North American travel agents are visiting Ireland this month. All have booked package holidays to be taken before or after the American Society of Travel Agents' annual world conference, which begins in Glasgow on Sunday. Bord Failte and the tourism industry are taking full advantage of the event's proximity to Ireland.
A special Irish Classic Golf Tournament, jointly hosted by Bord Failte, the Northern Ireland Tourist Board and Avis Rent-a-Car, tees off at Portmarnock tomorrow and continues at Royal Portrush the following day.
