A building firm has incurred a £10,000 penalty and faces further penalties because Travellers with more than 60 caravans have moved on to a business development park in Co Meath, the High Court was told yesterday. Manley Construction Ltd, of Duleek, obtained an interlocutory injunction from Mr Justice McKechnie which restrains the Travellers from trespassing on Dunboyne Business Park. The restraining order remains in effect until after the hearing.

Ms Nuala O'Donoghue, for Manley Construction, said there had been 22 caravans, but a further 40 arrived on April 1st. Her clients had built five warehouses on the site, which were due to be handed over to the property developer. Mr Tom Manley, managing director of the construction company, said the Travellers were refusing to leave. His company had incurred a £10,000 penalty for the first week's delay and faced a similar fine for every other week's delay.
