Cardiff - Police and scientists were yesterday handling calls from worried residents after a tremor rocked a large area of north Wales. The epicentre was registered in the centre of Anglesey at 6 a.m. Worried people from as far as Barmouth, 40 miles from the centre of Anglesey, called police to tell them they had heard a loud bang.
A seismologist at the British Geological Survey in Edinburgh said they had registered the tremor as 3.3 on the Richter scale.
