A taxi driver found lying in a pool of blood died from blunt force trauma to the head, which fractured his skull, a court has heard.
Michael Healy (62) was struck at least six times around the forehead with a moderately heavy object, according to State Pathologist Prof Marie Cassidy.
She told the trial of Lloyd Buckley at the Central Criminal Court in Cork that Mr Healy suffered widespread lacerations and bruising to the brain. Mr Buckley has denied murder but pleaded guilty to the manslaughter at Rocksprings Terrace, St Luke’s, Cork, between September 18th and 22nd, 2010.
The case continues.
