Yesterday's sitting of the Flood tribunal was postponed at short notice because of an "administrative error" after some of the parties represented were wrongly told the tribunal was not due to resume until next week.
Mr Justice Flood apologised for the mistake, which arose when lawyers representing auctioneer Mr John Finnegan were given the wrong information when they contacted the tribunal.
The tribunal had been due to decide yesterday whether builder Mr Tom Brennan had submitted all the financial documents demanded of him. However, some of the records he furnished from his trust in Liechtenstein are still being translated, and the matter will now be dealt with next Tuesday.
A further difficulty has arisen with documents in the possession of Mr Brennan's adviser in the Isle of Man, Mr Martin Bullock, who has said he will not travel to Ireland to give evidence. The tribunal is currently examining a number of options, including the possibility that it could travel to the Isle of Man to take Mr Bullock's evidence.
