Tributes were paid last night to Kevin McHugh (60), leading Donegal fisherman and owner of the Atlantic Dawnsupertrawler, who has died at a Dublin hospital after a short illness.

Minister of State for Transport Pat the Cope Gallagher expressed "deep regret at the sad and untimely death of a leading fisherman and businessman".

Bord Iascaigh Mhara chief executive Pat Keogh described Mr McHugh as a "man with vision". Killybegs Fishermen's Organisation chief executive Seán O'Donoghue said Mr McHugh had "always pushed the boat out".
