The Ulster Unionist leader, Mr David Trimble, met Portadown Orange Order leaders at the weekend to update them on representations he has made on their behalf in trying to break the 500-day Drumcree parade dispute.
The secret meeting took place on Friday night in a Royal Black Institution hall in the Portadown area.
The Portadown Deputy District Master, Mr David Burrows, who led his lodge's delegation, described the meeting as "a useful exchange of views" but said nothing had yet been settled regarding the completion of the parade.
