London - A mother of triplets who claimed a fertility clinic implanted her with three embryos instead of the two she wanted yesterday won a High Court case against the clinic.
Mrs Patricia Thompson and her husband, Peter, got legal aid to sue Sheffield Fertility Clinic for breach of contract, claiming they never agreed to the implantation of a third embryo when Mrs Thompson had fertility treatment in 1996.
At the High Court in Sheffield yesterday Mr Justice Hooper ruled that the fertility clinic had breached its contract with the Thompsons. A hearing to assess damages will be held at a later date.
