Renault stepped up the pace in final practice for Tomorrow's Canadian Grand Prix with Italian Jarno Trulli well ahead of Ferrari's world champion Michael Schumacher.
Trulli, winner of last month's Monaco Grand Prix, lapped the Gilles Villeneuve circuit in one minute 12.629 seconds - beating Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya's 2002 pole position record time of 1:12.836.
Spanish team mate Fernando Alonso was second quickest in 1:12.901. BAR's Jenson Button and Takuma Sato followed on the timesheets ahead of Montoya and Schumacher, who is chasing his seventh win in eight races to become the first driver to win the same race seven times.
Schumacher had been fastest in the morning session today, ahead of Alonso and Button. Germany's Timo Glock, set for his race debut in a Jordan as a replacement for Italian Giorgio Pantano, was 18th quickest.
