The man is quoted in the film as saying he had been seized after a convoy was attacked.

Sitting in the back seat of a car beside a masked gunman and speaking with a southern American accent, the middle-aged man in casual civilian clothes identified himself as Thomas Hamill.

"They attacked our convoy," he said.

The car then drove off down what the report said was Iraq's main western highway between Baghdad and Falluja, passing a burning tanker truck on the road.
