Twenty children hospitalised in bus collision

Twenty children have been taken to hospital today after the bus they were travelling in collided with a car in Co Kildare.

Twenty children have been taken to hospital today after the bus they were travelling in collided with a car in Co Kildare.

The children were not seriously injured but were taken to Naas and Tallaght hospitals as a precautionary measure. A woman driving the car was taken to Naas Hospital. Her injuries are thought to be more severe but not serious.

The accident occurred at around 10 a.m. on the Kilteale to Rathmore road near Kill, Co Kildare.

The age of the children is not yet known but Gardai say they were all national school pupils. A number of other pupils and teachers on the bus at the time were not hurt.
