An Irish construction worker who died in the World Trade Centre attack in New York was buried in his native Sligo yesterday afternoon. The parish church in Mullinabreena overflowed with mourners who came to pay their last respects to Mr Kieran Gorman (35), who was working in one of the towers when the second aircraft hit on September 11th.
Mr Gorman's body was discovered at Ground Zero last Tuesday nine days after the six-month anniversary of the terrorist attacks in the US. He is survived by his wife, Anne, and three young sons, Barry, Gavin and Kieran jnr.
