Two aid workers were killed in Sudan's Darfur region when their vehicles came under fire yesterday, officials from Save the Children UK said today.
Both were Sudanese nationals working in the remote region, where Save the Children UK is one of the largest food distributors, reaching more than 300,000 of the more than 1.6 million forced from their homes by a 22-month-old rebellion.
A Save the Children official said the organisation had suspended operations in South Darfur state while investigations were taking place.
