A man and a woman were arrested separately in the Kevin Street area of Dublin yesterday, and £55,000 worth of heroin was recovered.
The first arrest was of a 29 year-old male at about 9 a.m. He was in possession of £25,000 worth of heroin. The second arrest, of a 19 year-old female, was in a flat in the area, where £30,000 of heroin was found. The two are being held in Kilmainham Garda station under Section 2 of the Drugs Trafficking Act. They can be held for one week.
The arrests were part of an on-going anti-drugs operation being carried out in the south inner-city of Dublin, by the detective unit at Kevin Street and the National Drugs Unit.
