TWO MEN were remanded in custody yesterday in connection with incidents relating to an ongoing feud between families in Mullingar.

At a special sitting of Tullamore District Court yesterday, Anthony Dinnigan (36), Macetown, Cloughan, Mullingar was remanded in custody to appear again at Tullamore District Court today.

The court heard he had been charged with criminal damage following an incident in which petrol was poured on the plastic-covered window of a house. The window immediately went on fire but all seven occupants emerged uninjured. Judge Gerard Haughton remanded Mr Dinnigan in custody with consent to bail requiring a cash lodgement of €3,000 and with a number of conditions attached.

Christy Nevin (24), Abbeylands, Mullingar was also remanded in custody but no bail application was made on his behalf. He was charged with one count of criminal damage and will also appear at Tullamore District Court today.
