Two men have been charged with murdering Belfast busker Mr Brian Cathcart, who died after suffering burns to 70 per cent of his body. Mr Cathcart (51), from Larne, was found staggering through the Rathcoole estate, Newtownabbey, on November 8th. Liquid had been poured over him and set alight and he died in hospital on December 1st.

Mr William Watson (27), from Milewater Court, Newtownabbey, and Mr Simon McCarey (24), of Carnreagh Bend, Rathcoole, had originally been charged with attempted murder. They were remanded in custody until January 5th. Both are pleading not guilty.
