A man was killed and another man seriously injured in a car crash in west Dublin last night.
The dead man, a 27-year-old Lithuanian, was a front seat passenger in a car which crashed in Shelerin Road, Clonsilla, at around 11.00pm.
He was brought to James Connolly Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the car is being treated for multiple injuries.
Gardaíat Blanchardstown have launched an investigation into the accident.
A 30-year-old man died when his motorcycle hit a wall in Co Cavan yesterday evening, gardai said this morning. The crash happened at 6.40pm in Muineal, Corlough.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Cavan General Hospital.
The latest deaths bring to 369 the number of people killed on Ireland's roads so far this year, including six this weekend. It is just four short of the total number of fatalities for 2004.
