A 30-year-old man and an 82-year-old woman have died in separate road crashes in the past 24 hours.
The man died last night and another man was seriously injured when the car in which they were travelling crashed at Clooney Church on the Ennis to Tulla Road.
The crash happened at about 7.50pm. The men were taken to the Mid-Western Hospital in Limerick where the 30-year-old was pronounced dead.
The other man, who is 23, remains in a serious condition today.
The road remains closed and diversions are in place.
Witnesses or anyone who may have been on the Ennis to Tulla Road between 7.30pm and 8pm last night are asked to contact the gardaí in Ennis on 065 6848100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
The 82-year-old woman died this morning when the car she was driving crashed outside Boyle Co Roscommon.
The crash happened at Mockmoyne at about 10.20am. The woman was the sole occupant of the car. She was taken to Sligo General Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
The road is closed to facilitate a forensic collision examination and diversions are in place.
