Two men were charged in Derry today after police discovered drugs valued at €580,000 during weekend searches in the city.
Cocaine, with a street value of around €360,000, was initially discovered during a planned police operation on Friday, sparked by the arrest of a man in the city centre.
Two houses one in the Waterside and another in the Cityside were raided. More drugs were recovered yesterday during searches and a substantial sum of money was also seized.
Both men, who are in their twenties, will appear before magistrates tomorrow. A man and a woman have also been released, pending a report to the prosecution service.
