Two men arrested in Derry yesterday in connection with the attempted murder of civil servant Paul McCauley have been released.
A PSNI spokeswoman said the 21-year-old has been released on police bail pending further inquiries while the 36 year-old was released unconditionally.
Mr McCauley was left in a permanent vegetative state after he was attacked at a barbecue in July 2006.
Daryll Proctor is serving a 12-year-sentence for causing Mr McCauley grievous bodily harm.
