Officers from the Special Detective Unit in Harcourt Square found the drugs after they stopped an SUV at the junction of River Road and Navan Road last night.

Six kilograms of the drug and an imitation gun were found in the vehicle in the operation which was part of the Garda's Operatio Anvil aimed at cracking down on organised crime.

The two men - aged 40 and 29 - were arrested and taken to Blanchardstown Garda Station. They are being held under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
