A nurse driving home from work in a four-wheel drive vehicle at about 8am was stopped at traffic lights in Dunboyne when a five series BMW crashed into her vehicle.

Two men got out of the BMW carrying a bag of wine bottles and tried to leave the scene.

Bystanders, who had witnessed the crash, tried to stop them and they became involved in a row. One of the men allegedly punched one of the bystanders, an elderly woman, in the face. The other got into the four-wheel drive and drove it away. The car was later found abandoned.
