Two men aged in their 20s have been arrested in connection with an attempted robbery at a post office in Co Dublin this morning.
At about 9.30am, two men walked into the post office in Bayside and threatened staff and customers with a handgun and a knife.
One shot was fired but there were no injuries. No money was taken during the raid.
The two men fled the scene on a motorbike and were pursued by gardaí. They were arrested at Bayside train station a short time later.

The two men are being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Raheny and Howth Garda stations.
