Gardaí in Co Kildare are continuing to question a man and a woman in connection with the fatal stabbing of another man in Newbridge on Monday.

The body of Krystian Morowski, who was aged 21, was found in a house at Moorefield Park at about 5.30am.

A postmortem carried out by the State pathologist at Naas General Hospital on Monday revealed Mr Morowski died from a stab wound.

Gardaí in Newbridge arrested a 46-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman in the town at about 9.30am today.

The man is being held at Newbridge Garda station, and the woman is detained at Kildare Garda station. Both are being held under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.

A technical examination is still being carried out at the scene, a Garda statement said.
