Two men are being questioned in connection with the seizure of two firearms in Co Wicklow.
The men, aged 36 and 52, were arrested after gardaí uncovered a machine gun, a handgun and a quantity of ammunition during the search of a van in Baltinglass on Wednesday evening.
Both men are being held at Baltinglass Garda station under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
In a separate incident yesterday, gardaí recovered two rifles and a quantity of ammunition in a laneway in Tallaght in Dublin.
The rifles are believed to have been stolen from a house in Co Wexford last year. Nobody has been arrested in relation to the recovery of the rifles, gardaí said.
