TWO men in their 20s are recovering in hospital after a punishment beating in a flat in the Bogside area of Derry. They were attacked by a group of masked men with pick axe handles and hurleys on Tuesday night.
One man suffered broken arms, a puncture wound to his leg and bruising; the other sustained bruising to his back.
The attack was condemned by Families Against Intimidation and Terror. A spokeswoman said: "We do not want any form of violence in our society. We abhor these acts of thuggery and vicious attacks which are being carried out as forms of community policing."
