The Tanaiste, Ms Harney, has welcomed news of the creation of 200 jobs at the Ingersoll-Rand International, an export sales and service company to be based at Airside Business Park in Swords.

"The news is welcome, in light of some recent job losses in the area. This announcement, together with the ongoing development at the Organon plant, is very good for the north Dublin," she stated.

The jobs were announced at the opening of the facility this morning, which was conducted by the Taoiseach, Mr Ahern.

The new jobs come as an addition to the 500 people employed at the company's Thermo King plant in Galway, and at its warehouse in Shannon.
