Two men have been jailed for seven years each for a series of robberies in Dublin city centre. James Fox (27) of Rosemount Park, Dundrum, pleaded guilty to robbing £60 in a city centre hold-up on September 1st, 1998. David McDonald, (29) of Montpelier Park, Dublin 7, pleaded guilty to robbing £100 worth of cigarettes from an off-licence on Berkeley Road in August 1998.
Prosecuting counsel Mr Roger Sweetman asked that a number of other robbery and attempted robbery charges be taken into consideration. Judge Joseph Matthews at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court said he had to mark the seriousness of the offences, but set a review date in 2001.
