Two men have been killed in separate road accidents overnight.

Two men have been killed in separate road accidents overnight.

A 22-year-old man died after the car in which he was a passenger overturned and hit an embankment at Forenaughts Little, Naas, Co. Kildare at around 1.50am.

His body has been removed to Naas General Hospital where a post mortem examination will be carried out.

No other vehicle was involved.

Meanwhile, an investigation has been launched in Co Westmeath after a man died after he was struck by a vehicle at Crowenstown on the Athboy to Delvin Road in Co Westmeath at 3.40am.

The scene was preserved while a technical examination was carried out.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to the incident to contact Mullingar Garda Station at 044 9348915.

Gardaí in Dublin have also issued an appeal for information following a road crash on the Malahide Road in Clontarf last Tuesday in which a man in his 50s died. Anyone with information is asked to contact Clontarf Gardai on 01-666-4800 or any Garda station
