Two young men have died in car crashes in Galway and Westmeath.
A 31-year-old man was killed when the car he was driving collided with a vehicle transporter. The crash took place on the N17 at Knockdoebeg, Loughgeorge Co Galway just after midnight.
No other person was injured. The dead man has been removed to University Hospital Galway. He has not been named.
A 20-year-old man has died from injuries sustained in a single vehicle crash at Gorteen, Mullingar last Wednesday. Mr Richard Newman from Coralstown, Co Westmeath died in Mullingar General Hospital at 9.30 p.m. last night.
