Two people have died and a further five been injured in a two-car collision in Co Offaly this afternoon.
The crash happened shortly before 2pm at Annamoe, near Portarlington.
The driver of one of the vehicles and a back seat passenger travelling in the same car, died in the collision.
The bodies of the two men, who were aged approximately 50 years and 20 years, have been removed to Portlaoise Hospital.
Five other people were taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.
The R423 Portarlington to Mountmellick Road is closed until further notice and diversions are in place.
