Two men charged in connection with a €1.5 million drugs haul in Co Limerick earlier this year have been sent forward for trial.
Kieran Nevin (36), Lower Annagh, Lisnagry, Co Limerick, and Shane Ferguson (45), Ahane, Lisnagry, are charged with the possession of the drugs for sale or supply at Annagh, Lisnagry.
Almost 80kg of cannabis herb, with an estimated value of €1.5 million, was seized when gardaí searched a cottage on the outskirts of Limerick city at about 8.30pm on May 25th last.
Each man is facing three charges under the Misuse of Drugs Act, including the possession of the cannabis herb for sale or supply.
They were served their books of evidence at Limerick District Court yesterday by Garda Paul Crowley, who informed the court that their previous addresses were to be amended.
Judge Eugene O’Kelly issued the alibi warning to Mr Ferguson and Mr Nevin and remanded them on continuing High Court bail, subject to a number of conditions to appear before the next sittings of Limerick Circuit Court.
