Two men are being questioned on the seizure of ecstasy tablets in north Dublin yesterday evening.
The arrests and seizure of 50,000 tablets are as a result of an ongoing investigation into organised crime by the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, gardaí said.
The two men in their 20s were arrested in Cloghran, Co Dublin at about 6 p.m. yesterday after a car was stopped in the area.
One man is being held in Blanchardstown Garda station while the other is at Santry station. Both are being held under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act. The drugs are believed to be worth more than €700,000.
