Two men were being treated in hospital last night after separate paramilitary-style attacks. The first took place in Rathcoole outside Belfast, at 8.40 p.m. on Thursday. A 37-year-old man was shot in both legs. In the second incident, a 19-year-old man was shot in the thigh in Sandy Row in Belfast at about 10 p.m. on Thursday.
Two men have escaped injury in a petrol-bomb attack on a house in Co Antrim. Po lice said they had yet to establish a motive for the attack on a house at Mourne View Park in Lisburn shortly before 1.30 a.m. yesterday.
