Two men were today recovering in hospital from serious knife injuries after a fight between a large number of people on a Dublin street.
Gardaí were called when the brawl broke out on the street near a nightclub on Harcourt Street early this morning.
The officers found one man with a stab wound to the neck and another with a punctured lung. The men were taken to St James's Hospital where their injuries are serious but not life-threatening.
Two nine-inch blades were recovered and officers at Pearse Street and Harcourt Terrace garda stations have begun an investigation.
Officers appealed for witnesses to the fight, which happened on Harcourt Street at 12.30 a.m.
A Garda spokeswoman said the incident was not being treated as a racist attack. "It was a large group of oriental nationals," she said.
