The British army has dealt with another two pipe bomb devices in Antrim town.
One device, which partly exploded, was left at an address in the Beechfield. Just hours earlier, another device was planted in the Birch Hill areas of the town.
Three such devices have been planted in 48 hours in the area.
Nobody has been injured and no claims of responsibility have so far been received for the planting of the latest devices.
However, a Belfast newsroom received a claim of responsibility for the first device from a group styling itself the Real UFF. It was left on the windowsill of a Catholic family's home at Fir Grove Lane yesterday morning.
The latest bomb discoveries have brought widespread condemnation from the political parties and the two governments.
In Co Tyrone, an Orange hall was destroyed in an arson attack. Bonn Orange Hall near Pomeroy, which was last attacked in November 2008, was discovered ablaze at about 3am.
Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness strongly condemned the attack, claiming those responsible were trying to inflame communities in advance of Saturday’s Apprentice Boys marches across the North. The arsonists were motivated “solely by sectarian bigotry” and were no different to those who carry out attacks on GAA halls and churches, he said.
Richard Reid, a trustee of the hall, said it would be rebuilt and he condemned those responsible of sectarianism.
DUP Assembly member Ian McCrea supported Mr Reid’s comments.
“We’re supposed to be in a new era, yet there are a lot of people in this area apparently can’t give us space to live,” he told the BBC. “We hear a lot of talk about a new Ireland and a new future, but unfortunately the outlook for us seems to be that we’re not part of that, we’re not wanted in that area.”
PSNI Supt Alywin Barton said the arson was designed to provoke tensions within the community.
“Two years ago we had a situation in Mid-Ulster in which there were eight tit-for-tat incidents in the space of 12 days with both Orange halls and GAA clubs targeted.
“We do not want to see a repeat of that. I implore you - do not allow yourself to be manipulated by these individuals and their agenda, do not react.”
