Two Aer Lingus flights have been cancelled in the last two days due to technical difficulties.
One of the flights, EI 107 from Dublin to New York, via Shannon, was forced to return to Shannon an hour into its flight. A passenger with two children said the plane was "going up and down like a roller coaster".
The approximately 300 passengers were accommodated overnight in Shannon and were flown out on a different aircraft this morning.
On Wednesday Aer Lingus Flight 109 from Dublin to New York was cancelled again due to a technical fault. Passengers provided with hotel accommodation before being flown out on a different plane yesterday.
The airline said both aircraft had been serviced and were now operational. She refused to comment on the nature of the technical faults.
