Two pedestrians have died in separate road traffic collisions in Cos Limerick and Westmeath overnight.
In Co Westmeath a 23-year-old man was killed while out walking on the N4 at Clongowney near Mullingar.
The incident happened shortly before 5am.
The road was closed for a forensic garda investigation but has since reopened.

In Co Limerick a 69-year old man died when he was struck by a car on St Nessan’s Road in Dooradoyle at 7.45pm yesterday.
The road has reopened following a garda technical examination.
