A man and a woman arrested with four others yesterday in connection with the 65-year-old's murder were released without charge, and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions. Four other people - three men and one woman - remain in custody .

Kelly was shot dead in broad daylight near his home in Furry Park Road in Killester, Dublin, on Tuesday. He was the 15th gun murder victim so far this year.

On Friday, suspected dissident republican, Sean Connolly (34), of Bernard Curtis House in Bluebell, south Dublin, was charged with his murder at a late-night sitting of the three judge non-jury Special Criminal Court. He will re-appear before the court via video-link on December 20th, when his barrister is expected to make an application for legal aid.
