Two men charged in connection with the death of Ms Charlene McAuliffe (19) in a house at Farranree, Cork, on October 2nd have been remanded in custody to Cork District Court on October 12th. Mr Gerard Grehan (33), a fisherman, of John Street, Dingle, Co Kerry, is charged with murder. Mr Alan John Clucas (27), from the Isle of Man, whose address was given as the caravan park, Cuan, Ventry, Co Kerry, is charged with placing the body of the young woman in a car boot with the intention of impeding the apprehension or prosecution of Mr Grehan.

Mr Pat Mann, solicitor, applied for bail for Mr Clucas, but Supt John O'Connor objected on the grounds that he had no specific address.

Judge Humphrey Kelleher refused bail to both men.
