Two men charged with murdering a Brazilian man in Co Kerry were remanded in continuing custody today.

Two men charged with murdering a Brazilian man in Co Kerry were remanded in continuing custody today.

The body of Bruno Lemes De Sousa, (28), who had been missing from his home in Gort, Co Galway, was found in a bog in Listowel last Sunday.

John Paul Cawley, (19), and Wenio Rodrigues Da Silva (28), appeared before Kilmallock District Court yesterday charged with murdering Mr De Sousa.

The two accused, who have an address at Ardoughter, Ballyduff, Co Kerry, are charged with committing the murder on a date between February 16th, 2012 and March 10th, 2012 at Shronowen Bog, Tullamore, Listowel, Co Kerry.

Last Tuesday, gardai told Newcastle West District Court that Mr Da Silva made no reply when charged with the killing.

The court was told Mr Cawley replied "I'm sorry" when he was charged.

Both men have been granted free legal aid.

Supt Alan Cunningham of Bruff Garda station requested the men be remanded in custody until their next court appearance.

Judge Mary O'Halloran remanded the two accused in continuing custody to appear at Limerick District Court on Tuesday.
