Two men charged with an assault in which a 35-year-old librarian was seriously injured have been sent for trial.
Stephen Nugent (22), a former member of the Irish Davis Cup team from St Werburgh's, Swords, and Dermot Cooper (27), Fosterbrook, Stillorgan, are charged with assault causing serious harm to Barry Duggan at Grafton Street, Dublin.
A book of evidence was served on both yesterday.
Mr Duggan was allegedly assaulted as he wheeled his bicycle past Bewley's Cafe in Grafton Street in the early hours of April 13th last year.

At Dublin District Court, Judge John Coughlan sent both men forward for trial to the Circuit Criminal Court on continuing bail of €300 each.
