Two women charged with public order offences arising out of disturbances on Dublin's Navan Road on May Day were remanded on bail yesterday.

A third was remanded in custody while a fourth woman arrested in a Garda security operation prior to the EU summit was unable to take up bail and continued to stay in custody.

Ms Mary Hennessey (20), High Street, Kilkenny, and Ms Meranda Egan-Langley (25), Rathgar Road, Dublin, were charged with breach of the peace and failing to obey a Garda direction to move on.

Judge Catherine Murphy remanded Ms Hennessey on her own continuing bail of €250 to Tallaght Court tomorrow so she can apply to the judge who originally set bail to change a condition that she sign on daily at Kilkenny Garda station.
